Goodbye Washington, Hello Oregon

Good morning from Seaside, Oregon

Yesterday, we said goodbye to Washington and hello to Oregon but not before visiting the North Head Lighthouse near Cape Disappointment. For only $2.50 we were able to go up to the top of a real working lighthouse. The couple volunteering at the lighthouse were a wonderful elderly couple who had some great stories to share.

After packing up the trailer, we headed down the road. We went through a couple of sleepy little towns and then over the Astoria Bridge which is over 4 miles long. We saw a dredge working to clear the way for the large ships and lots of water fowl of which I am not familiar.

After going over the Astoria bridge into Astoria (which we will be visiting before heading onward) we traveled over another bridge and went through a town or two before arriving at Seaside, Oregon. We are staying at the Circle Creek Campground which is convenient to both Astoria and Cannon Beach.

The rain is falling and the wind has stopped howling for the time being, we are hoping that this storm will blow over soon. Also, my prayers go out to the East-coast which is bracing for a horrible Hurricane named Sandy (which is also my Mother-in-law's name, who lives in Philadelphia...she is a sweetheart though) I hope you keep safe.
