Hello from Marysville, Washington which is just North of
Everett. We have just checked out of the Lakeside RV Park and will be headed
South today as soon as the trailer has been serviced.
To catch you up on what has been going on, we did not make
it to the Seattle Aquarium but, went on the Underground Seattle tour. The tour
was really interesting. You get to go beneath the sidewalks and learn about the
history of Seattle. We got to see what it looks like below the original
skylights that are set in the sidewalks. The skylights are still visible in the
sidewalks in front of some of the businesses in Pioneer Square. If you have the
chance to walk through the historical neighborhood of Pioneer Square, across
from the glass covered walkway, look down and you will see rectangle sections
in the sidewalk filled with little glass squares of purple glass; those are the
original skylights from back in the day. There are newer ones, but only the purple
ones are the original. We had a
wonderful tour guide on the tour, she is an aspiring actress and very dynamic.
The tour starts at the Underground Café in a wonderful old bar, where they give
you a twenty minute history lesson to get you ready for the tour and then the
tour goes through three underground sections and lasts for about an hour.

After the tour we made a beeline for Everett, Washington to
pick-up our camp trailer. We made a few shopping trips to get the necessary
supplies for the trailer at Walmart and Fred Meyers. It’s a nice little 20 foot
trailer with all the needed comforts.
We found the Lakeside
RV Park and found a spot. Since we came after hours, we didn't get to meet the
camp hosts until the following day. They are a wonderful older couple who are
very friendly. It turns out that they have family who live in Anchorage…small
world. The Lakeside RV Park is in a very convenient location, close to stores
and next door to the 5th Wheel Place, an RV Center where we got the
RV brakes, new equalizer hitch and new propane tanks. The RV park has a cute
little pond and an off dog area where we took Chelsea. It also has laundry
facilities as well as toilets and showers. The park is a large paved area with
trees in between each site and a lovely little pond where you can pick fresh blackberries.

While we were at the park, we had a brief but real thunder
and lightning storm. I was unable to get any lightning flashes since there were
only a couple, but after the storm there was a beautiful rainbow with a fainter
one above. I took a photo of our little trailer in the middle of a rainbow.
