Relaxing on the Kenai Peninsula

We are hanging out at my parent's house down on the Kenai Peninsula for a little bit before we head out. On our way down it was rainy, windy and ugly until we hit Cooper Landing and the sun peeked out. Yesterday was fairly pretty although hazy. We went down to the beach with Chelsea so she could burn off some energy. The beach was covered with dead fish and we were hard pressed to keep Chelsea from rolling in the fishy goodness.

Last night we went out to St. Elias Brewing Company in Soldotna. It was opened by a guy I went to school with and his wife, both are locals and the place is popular with the locals. They sell 11 inch pizzas that are  made fresh right as you walk in the door. I had half pepperoni and half margarita pizza. The margarita was good but the pepperoni was awesome. They use fresh ingredients and the pepperoni was high quality. James had a sampler of all of the available beers that they brew right there. The Oktoberfest was the best in his opinion. They also brew wonderful root beer there. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Soldotna, they are located on the hill right by Fred Meyers.

Today James went back to Anchorage to get the Tahoe ready to be shipped out. It is a misty wonderland here in Kenai, so no playing outside today. Hopefully it will be nice tomorrow because I would love to take a drive to Homer before heading out.
