Blue Bonnets - Texas State Flower
I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful three year old little girl in the bluebonnets a few days ago. She was such a pleasure to photograph.
For you non-Texans, the Bluebonnet is the Texas state
flower. Coming from Alaska, I found that Bluebonnets are a lot like Lupines. They are a
smaller plant, probably only a foot to the top of the flower, they grow in
bunches and they smell lovely.

I love photographing children; each age brings new
challenges and new developments. At three years old, children do not like to
sit still and pose, so I capture more lifestyle photos instead of posed photos.
This little cutie was enamored with lady bugs. We had fun searching for lady
bugs in the flowers and they even let her hold them. Three year olds take
patience and energy but I would never pass up the chance to photograph one.
Children help me to stay young. They see the world through
young eyes. Each day is a new day of learning and growing both physically and mentally.
This is a good way to live and all of us should take it to heart, to live each
day in the present and count it as a gift.
