Day of the Dead in Austin Texas 11.02.2013

I had the pleasure of attending the Day of the Dead Procession and Celebration at Tillery Park in Downtown Austin. It was the evening of November 2nd, 2013. The night was dark and still. The park was lit only by a small string of lights and a few additional lights. All of a sudden, we heard the Minor Mishap Marching Band
playing as they came down the street to the park. The band was playing some wonderful music that had an eerie quality about it. As the band came down the path, people gathered on the edges to enjoy. The band went to the back of the park near the alter and slideshow. The people who were part of the procession started coming down the path. Some of the costumes were amazing. The people in Austin are so friendly and agreeable, they let me photograph them in their finery.

Another amazing experience here in Austin, Texas.
