Event Photography - Farm Credit

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing an event for Farm Credit.

The first day was more for marketing, so I went out with a marketing company and photographed while they video taped. We started at sunrise out in the country at a cattle ranch. We were able to photograph cowboys herding the cattle into a pen and then loaded into a truck. It was interesting and fun to see them round up all the cattle out in the field and drive them into the pen. They then loaded them neatly onto the trailer. The cattle were like big dogs and so cute.

We then went to an organic garden in South Austin. I was amazed at how much produce they could grow on 200 acres. I got to meet the owner and tour the gardens. He let me taste some cherry tomatoes fresh off the vine and carrots fresh from the ground.

The next day was a mini tour of the cattle ranch facilities, a mini tour of the gardens and a trip to a winery for a delicious lunch. At the end of the day, there was a gathering that the participants could go to and listen to some live music.

The following two days were informative break out sessions and a private screening of the documentary Farmland about several young farmers. We also got to meet one of the farmers, Leighton Cooley and his wife who were in the documentary.

It was a great conference and the ladies that planned it, should go into business for fun conference planning.
